Ski days that started in the dark. Summers on the water. Thirty-odd Augusts on a mountain with the light coming at you off the snow from two directions at once. You would not give a single one of them back.
But you look in the mirror now and the sun is in there. Around the eyes first. Along the cheekbones. It is not damage and it is not a problem to be solved — it is a record, and it is yours.
Sunlit Nectar was not made to erase it.
There is a whole industry built on telling you that what happened is reversible, and it is very good at making you feel behind.
This is the other thing. Deliberately is the word that carries it. Not a regimen and not a fourteen-step protocol — three bottles that are easy to use and go with you everywhere. Warm oil and steam at the sink on a Tuesday. Cold water and a headlamp at a campsite in October. Both work.
Three products. Not a range and not a collection. A sequence, where each one is formulated around the one that comes after it.
Biao and Ben
Chinese medicine has two words for where a thing sits. Biao is the surface — the exterior, what shows, what you present. Ben is the root, underneath, where lasting change happens.
I have always treated the root. That is where the long-term work is, and it is what a treatment room is for — acupuncture and herbal medicine, working with body, mind and spirit together, over months. No bottle does that. Anyone selling you a face oil that reaches the root is selling you something.
So let me be plain about what this is. Sunlit Nectar is the biao. The exterior.
That is not a small thing. Skin is the largest organ you have, and the face is the part of the body you hand to the world every day. It is worth looking after properly, with things worth putting on it.
And the same logic that governs a herbal formula still applies here — clear what is on the surface, restore what is missing, then feed what sits beneath it. Three bottles, in that order, and only that order.
A Chinese herbal formula is not a list of good ingredients. It is a structure, and every part of it holds a rank. The jun is what the formula is built around. The chen supports it and covers what the jun cannot reach alone.
The zuo assists, broadens, or takes the edge off. The shi directs the whole and protects it.
Rosehip is the jun of Soleil at nineteen percent — first on the list, and more of it than anything else. Behind it sit three chen, chosen because none of them repeats what rosehip already gives: pomegranate, raspberry seed, macadamia. Four zuo make the body of it — jojoba, argan, squalane, marula. Vitamin E and rosemary are the shi, guarding the whole thing in the bottle.
Eight oils where most face oils at this price run three. And the list is not longer than that, because anything that duplicated something already in the formula came out.
The 3 Steps
Cleanse
Eight to twelve drops. Chiffon yellow, light, and thinner than you expect — it moves the moment it touches skin, dry or damp.
Massage it in for a minute. That minute is the actual product. I use my hands, or in the shower a gua sha tool or facial cups, working up the jaw, over the cheekbones and out along the brow. At the sink it is a warm cloth laid flat over the face, held for a few seconds, then wiped away — and that is where the frankincense comes up on the steam. Camping, it is cold water and it works just as well.
Skin is soft afterwards. Not tight, not squeaking.
Mist
Two sprays, while your face is still warm and damp. It is concentrated enough that two is genuinely it — but sprays always miss somewhere, so disperse it gently with your hands across the whole face and down the neck.
Rose arrives first and it is unmistakably actual rose. Nothing in that bottle was added for fragrance; what you smell is the flower water itself. Leave the skin slightly damp.
Apply
Three to five drops onto slightly damp skin. It has a little more body than the cleanser and still nothing you would call thick, and it is gone in a few minutes. Face and neck.
Then look. That is the part people are not ready for. Skin is soft, nothing is tight, and the face looking back is awake. Not in a month. That night.
Give the oil ten minutes to absorb into the skin if you are putting sunscreen or any other products on your face.
A note on packing
These bottles are small and they last, because the formulas are concentrated rather than padded out. Two sprays instead of six. Five drops instead of a droperful. The travel set covers about a month away, which is the whole reason the trio exists.
First time washing, right off the bat I love the smell of everything. Skin feels super hydrated but not sticky or oily.

The Scent
The same eight aromatics run through the cleanser and the face oil, and they always arrive in the same order.
Neroli opens it — bright, green, lifting. It is the smallest quantity in the cleanser's whole blend and the first thing you meet when the bottle comes open. In the aromatherapy literature it is the reference oil for skin that is thin, dry and easily provoked, which is exactly the skin this range was built around.
Jasmine sits underneath, lush and warm. It is the note people remember, and it is the reason the ritual feels like something you look forward to rather than something you get through.
Ylang ylang gives the florals weight so they do not float off. Geranium, rosy, bridging the resin and the flowers. Helichrysum, honey and hay, strange and very good. Lavender smoothing every join so eight oils read as one thing.
Carrot seed, earthy and rooty, keeping the whole from tipping into perfume. It is the classic oil of the aromatherapy materia medica for skin that has weathered and looks tired.
Frankincense at the bottom, resinous and warm, holding everything down. It is the largest single aromatic in the cleanser, and it is what makes the warm cloth feel like a pause rather than a step.
In Soleil the identical blend runs at exactly 0.8 of the cleanser's strength. Same eight oils, same ratios, less of it — because this one stays with you all night and the cleanser is gone in a minute.
Between them sits the toner, which contains no essential oils at all. The quiet step between two aromatic ones.
Formulated by a Registered TCM Practitioner who spent years across a treatment table before there was ever a bottle. Blended in Revelstoke in batches of twelve.
